In her most daring role to date, Marion Cotillard shines as Stéphanie, an Orca whale trainer who works in a marine theme park. Stéphanie is privileged, works hard and stomps her frustrations out on the dance floor, where she has a chance encounter with and bouncer and bare knuckle street-fighter Alain (Matthias Schoenaerts). They are total opposites; Alain is a drifter with a son who relies on the generosity of his older sister. Months later a tragic accident has transformed Stéphanie’s life and her anger draws her inexorably into Alain’s violent world. Together they find the hope of healing their wounds, relying on each other to survive.
