Martin Freeman stars as failed actor Paul Maddens, a Grinch-esque primary school teacher charged with staging the school’s annual nativity play. When Maddens announces to the school that his ex-girlfriend may jet in from her Hollywood studio job and sign everyone up, the piece of misinformation soon makes the local news. Cue Christmas chaos as Maddens attempts outlandish ideas – from a crazy trip to LA to dangerous dance moves. Freeman gives the role his all and the end result is a good-hearted, feel-good film.
