When petty criminal Malik, a young French Arab, is first incarcerated in prison, he is without friends or allies until he undergoes a gruelling rites-of-passage murder and so begins to ensure his place in the prison scheme of things as one of power. As he rises through the criminal ranks, both inside and outside the prison walls, Malik’s dangerous life seems charmed, particularly after he survives a bizarre car crash and is attributed with powers of prophecy but where will it all end?
